I’m Grateful for Take What You Need

Helping out with this program was a perfect opportunity for me. With 18 years of retail grocery experience, running a food distribution event was right up my alley! In addition to reapplying my former skills, I discovered serving food free made me feel much better than when I served it for a profit. Covid hit vulnerable communities extremely hard and I was happy to help provide direct aid to my community in need.

It can feel like we are disconnected in this country. Many of us feel disconnected from others based on race, political party, religion, etc. But the truth is that we are all connected. We are not separate from anything. We are the universe and the universe is us. I believe that our world is so interconnected that when we help others, we help ourselves. I believe this is true of everything in the natural world, not just people. As we come out of Covid, I hope we boldly address the glaring issues of inequality, climate, and human rights.

In the meantime, you can catch me every Tuesday handing out food to anyone who stops by. No questions asked!
